Academy of Health Careers
Why Seminole? Because Seminole High School’s Academy of Health Careers prepares students not just to learn about healthcare—but to step directly into it. Through rigorous academics, hands-on experiences, and real-world clinical exposure, students are challenged to think like professionals, act with purpose, and begin building the skills that lead to careers in medicine, research, and patient care.
Patient Care
In the Patient Care track, students gain the experience, professionalism, and compassion needed to work directly with patients. Through Health Science Foundations 2 Honors, they build essential skills such as vital signs, CPR, communication, and medical ethics while exploring healthcare careers through shadowing and early certification opportunities, including Basic Life Support and CPR. In Anatomy and Physiology Honors, students deepen their understanding of the human body and disease processes, strengthening their readiness for clinical practice. Senior year places students in specialized, career-aligned pathways such as Allied Health Assisting, Certified Nursing Assistant, Electrocardiography, and Emergency Medical Response—where they gain clinical experience in real healthcare settings and earn nationally recognized certifications before graduation.
Biomedical track
In the Biomedical track, students become innovators and problem-solvers in the world of science and medicine. Beginning with Human Body Systems Honors, they explore how the body’s systems work together through interactive investigations and biomedical case studies. In Medical Interventions Honors, students dive into disease prevention, diagnosis, and treatment while analyzing real-world medical scenarios and earning industry credentials such as the Certified Biotechnician Assistant credential.
By senior year, Biomedical Innovation Honors pushes students into capstone-level problem solving, where they design solutions to real health challenges in areas like medical technology, public health, and biomedical engineering. This pathway empowers students to think beyond the classroom and help shape the future of healthcare.
Across both tracks, students are held to professional healthcare standards, including clearances, accountability, and industry expectations—mirroring the realities of the field they are preparing to enter.
At Seminole, students don’t just prepare for healthcare careers—they begin living them.
