Advanced Placement & Dual Enrollment
Why Seminole? Because driven students deserve opportunities that match their ambition—and a head start on their college future.
Seminole’s Advanced Placement (AP) and Dual Enrollment programs are designed for motivated, college-bound students ready to take on the challenge of college-level coursework while still in high school. These courses provide a rigorous academic experience that builds critical thinking, time management, and independence—skills essential for success beyond graduation.
AP courses require a strong commitment, with students expected to dedicate significant time and effort outside of regular class hours. In return, students have the opportunity to earn college credit based on their performance on AP exams, giving them a valuable advantage as they move into higher education.
Dual Enrollment courses offer another pathway, allowing students to earn college credit while completing high school requirements through partnerships with local colleges and universities. These courses provide firsthand experience with college expectations and academic rigor in a supportive environment.
Both AP and Dual Enrollment courses meet the Florida Department of Education’s requirement for an “Equally Rigorous” course, helping students strengthen their academic profile while preparing for the next level.
At Seminole, students don’t just prepare for college—they start achieving it.
