School Advisory Council

The School Advisory Council is looking for parents to join for the 2025-2026 school year. The School Advisory Committee serves as a resource for the principal and advises the principal in matters pertaining to the school including the School Improvement Plan. The committee meets 8 times throughout the year.  The meetings are at 5:30 p.m. on campus (Media Center) and last approximately an hour. You must be elected to the committee to have voting rights on grant requests and other matters. The Purpose of the Seminole HS School Advisory Council (SAC) is the following:

  • Serve as a resource for the principal who remains responsible for all decisions affecting the school, and the principal shall make the final decision on recommendations of the SAC;

  • Advise the principal in matters pertaining to the school program; "Advise" in this context means to inquire, inform, suggest, or recommend;

  • Inquire about school matters, identify problems, propose solutions to problems, suggest changes, inform the Seminole school community, and make recommendations of the council to the principal;

  • Assist in the preparation and evaluation of the school improvement plan as defined in Section 230.23(18) of the Florida Statutes;

  • Address any other educational area which would be improved through the encouragement of closer working relationships among the students, the school

 

Meeting Dates for 2025-2026:

  • February 19
  • March 19 (rescheduled due to Spring Break)
  • April 16
  • May 21 (if needed)

All meetings are held at 5:30 pm in Seminole's Media Center.
