NEW Young Men & Women of Excellence

Young Men & Women of Excellence

At Seminole High School, we believe every student deserves the opportunity, support, and challenge needed to reach their full potential. The YMOE/YWOE Initiative and Curriculum reflects this commitment by focusing on increasing academic achievement and expanding opportunities for minority male and female students within the Seminole County Public Schools.

This program is offered as an elective course that counts toward graduation and is enhanced through off-site enrichment experiences that extend learning beyond the classroom.

Our Commitment

Through mentorship, enrichment, and academic support, we work to:

  • Build a learning environment that encourages curiosity, confidence, and success
  • Develop student initiative, independence, and critical thinking skills
  • Empower students to make informed decisions about their future
  • Foster leadership, responsibility, and community engagement
  • Strengthen positive relationships through mentoring
  • Provide culturally relevant and meaningful learning experiences
  • Increase graduation rates and post-secondary readiness
  • Improve SAT and ACT performance
  • Expand access to advanced coursework, including dual enrollment
  • Connect students and families with meaningful resources and support
